"We will quickly realize how much Fernando Araújo is missed by the country"
The former Health Minister made great praise to the Executive Director of the NHS, who asked on Tuesday to resign from the current head of the department.

Former Health Minister Manuel Pizarro has already reacted to the resignation request of the Executive Director of the National Health Service (NHS). On Facebook, after hesitating to write about the subject, the socialist praised Fernando Araújo, who he considers to be "an exceptional doctor, a university professor of merit, a public manager with proven results, a citizen to whom the Portuguese owe a lot".
"Even at the moment he resigns, he shows his elegance and his detachment", highlighted the former minister, showing his "appreciation and admiration" for Fernando Araújo, "for his uprightness and independence", qualities that "are not always highly appreciated by political power in people who hold leadership positions in public administration".
Despite refusing to comment on "the circumstances that force Fernando Araújo to this attitude", Manuel Pizarro guarantees that "we will quickly realize how much we miss him in the country and in the NHS".
It is worth remembering that Fernando Araújo submitted his resignation from the position on Tuesday - together with his team - to the Minister of Health, Ana Paula Martins, after 15 months in office.
In a statement to which Notícias ao Minuto had access, the Executive Director of the NHS highlights that "this difficult decision will allow the new authority to implement the policies and measures it deems necessary, with the required speed, preventing the current DE-SNS from being considered an obstacle to its implementation".
