It was in a conversation with foreign journalists that Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa allegedly spoke openly about the fact that his relationship with his son, Nuno Rebelo de Sousa, had become fragile after the controversial case of the Portuguese-Brazilian twins who received millionaire treatment at the Hospital de Santa Maria.
The president allegedly admitted that he has cut off relations with his son and that the situation is "unforgivable", as we reported here.
On the 'Conversas de Café' section of 'Dois Às 10', these statements by Marcelo were commented on, with Cristina saying: "Perhaps Marcelo had to do this publicly and say that he had cut off relations with his son. It's like us, when a child does something stupid, you have to give them a telling off. In a way, this is a telling off".
Cláudio, on the other hand, believes that the statements were just to take a position before the population. "I think Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa is saying this publicly to calm our hearts and the people who like him. In private, I sincerely believe that he will not cut off relations with his son".
