The announcement was made at the Teatro Municipal São Luiz, in Lisbon, before the show "Quis saber quem sou -- Um concerto teatral", by Pedro Penim.

With a value of 5,000 euros, the Revelação Prize is awarded to a person linked to Portuguese theatre, who is under 30 years old and whose artistic work has stood out in the previous year, in this case, 2023.

The jury of this fifth edition decided to distinguish Tita Maravilha, actress, director, Brazilian programmer, based in Portugal since 2018 and who in the following years signed works such as "Trypas Corassão: Espetáculo em Dois Atos" (2020), "Tita no País das Maravilhas" (2021) and "As Três Irmãs" (2022).

In a press release, the chairman of the board of directors of D. Maria II, Rui Catarino, stated that Tita Maravilha "has stirred up waters in the Portuguese performing arts scene and symbolises the quality, diversity and effervescence of theatre in Portugal".

In 2022, Tita Maravilha had also won the Amélia Rey Colaço Grant, of which the national theatre is one of the promoters, for the project "As Três Irmãs", her first work in her own name.

This year's jury for the Prémio Revelação Ageas Teatro Nacional D. Maria II was composed of Álvaro Correia, António Durães, Catarina Barros, Cucha Carvalheiro, Cristina Carvalhal, Isabel Zuaá, John Romão, Mário Coelho, Marta Carreiras, Patrícia Portela, Pedro Barreiro, Pedro Mendes, Rui Pina Coelho, Sara Barros Leitão and Tónan Quito.
