81-year-old senior citizen bracelet for domestic violence against women

An 82-year-old man who was arrested for committing domestic violence against his partner, who is the same age, was given an electronic bracelet and ordered to stay 300 meters away from the victim, in the municipality of Torre de Moncorvo.
According to a statement from the National Republican Guard (GNR), the elderly man was arrested on Tuesday, after the military found out that he was committing psychological violence against his partner.
The detainee was brought before a judge this Wednesday and was forbidden from contacting the victim directly or indirectly. He must stay at least 300 meters away from his partner's residence and will now be monitored by an electronic bracelet.
The GNR recalls that "domestic violence is a public crime and reporting it is a collective responsibility".
