The spokeswoman for the US Presidency, Karine Jean-Pierre, was repeatedly questioned at a press conference about the information and the US position, but she declined to comment on the matter.

Hours earlier, in a press appearance after the conclusion of the G7 (group of the world's most industrialized countries) foreign ministers meeting on the Italian island of Capri, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken limited himself to saying that his country "is not engaged in offensive operations" against Iran and that it is working to contain the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.

The Israeli authorities also remain silent after the alleged airstrike on the Iranian city of Isfahan, very close to Iran's largest nuclear power plant, Natanz.

Meanwhile, Iran is experiencing a day of apparent normality after the attack, which caused no damage but triggered an initial alarm that led to the closure of four airports, which later resumed operations.

The alleged Israeli attack on Iran early today occurred after Iran launched 300 missiles and 'drones' (unmanned aircraft) on Israel last weekend, in retaliation for the deadly Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria, earlier this month.
