Darwin Núñez 'crucified' after Liverpool defeat: "Unforgivable"

Liverpool may have bid farewell, this Wednesday, to the 'dream' of winning the English championship title, due to the defeat suffered in the visit to Everton, by 2-0, which leaves them three points behind the Premier League leader, Arsenal, with four rounds to go until the end of the season.

A match in which Darwin Núñez, a player acquired from Benfica, almost two years ago, for an initial amount in the order of 75 million euros, stood out... negatively, by having shot against Jordan Pickford, when he had a clear goal opportunity to reopen the match.

After the final whistle, Jamie Carragher, former reds captain and current sports commentator for the British television station Sky Sports, did not spare criticism directed at the Uruguayan international, for the way he approached the move.

"The opportunity that Núñez wastes before half-time... It is unforgivable, at this level. These guys [Wayne Rooney and Daniel Sturridge] know much more about it than I do, but it is not acceptable, at this level, much less when Liverpool are fighting for the title," he said.
