On the sidelines of a dinner at Casa do FC Porto de Penafiel, Pinto da Costa, current president of the dragons, reacted to the elimination of the juniors in the UEFA Youth League, against AC Milan (2-2, 4-3 on penalties), 'painting' the moment as "inglorious", not hesitating to guarantee that "some athletes" will be part of the main squad next season.

"It was inglorious, it was a pity because the team was very good, played a good game. We showed that we have values that are a guarantee for the future. Now, it was a misfortune, but it's football, it's like that", he began by saying, in statements quoted in the newspaper O jogo.

Regarding the possibility of some players being an option for the main squad next season, Pinto da Costa was assertive about the matter. "Some can. I have no doubt. And some athletes will be part [of the squad]".

"Financial fair play? I have already said and I repeat that we have already received the license to participate in next season's European competitions, because until March 31st we had everything legalized. Therefore, I don't know what the doubt is", he added.
