A 'war' has broken out between the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot) and the government itself, following the dismissal of the head of the main team, Rigobert Song, and the search for his successor.

According to Monday's edition of the French newspaper Le Monde, the president of the organization, Samuel Eto'o, will have presented the political leaders (who have the final say) with a list of three names. They were the Portuguese José Peseiro, the French Hervé Renard and the Italian Fabio Cannavaro.

The document, made public by the publication, even states that the salaries "amounted to 2.4 million euros per year for Renard, and 1.5 million euros for Cannavaro and Peseiro". However, none of them were chosen.

Instead, the government opted to indicate another name, that of the Belgian Marc Brys, to fill the vacancy. A decision that will not have gone down well with Samuel Eto'o, who will have already made it known that he has no intention of hiring him.
