More than 800 kilos of meat seized in operation in Figueira da Foz

The Public Security Police (PSP) carried out a surveillance operation in the municipality of Figueira da Foz, district of Coimbra, this Friday.
In a statement, the authority explains that 28 goods vehicles were inspected, including 16 light vehicles and 12 heavy vehicles.
Six contravention reports were issued, namely four for infringement of the Goods and Circulation Regime, one for an illegal foreign vehicle in national territory and one for lack of traceability and cold chain.
Also, "fresh meat (several bovine carcasses) and frozen meat (chicken)" were seized, totaling 831 kilos.
In all, the seized meat is valued at 3,403 euros.
The operation took place on National Road 109, next to the Gala industrial zone, in Figueira da Foz, and brought together "the Coimbra PSP District Command, through the Figueira da Foz Police Division, the GNR Fiscal Brigade, the Authority for Working Conditions (ACT), the Food and Economic Safety Authority (ASAE) and the Social Security (SS)".
Its objective was "to inspect the conditions for transporting goods and the working conditions of professionals in the sector".
