Europeias. French activist summoned for "apology of terrorism"
The Franco-Palestinian activist Rima Hassan, seventh on the list of France Insoumise (LFI) for the European elections, was summoned by the police for "apology of terrorism", the party said in a statement today.

In another statement, her lawyer, Vincent Brengarth, "confirms the information according to which Rima Hassan received a summons from the judicial police today", while the party denounced on social networks "purely political manoeuvres intended to compromise her freedom of expression on Palestine".
According to the summons, revealed by the newspaper Le Monde and consulted by AFP, the controversial activist, who is also a lawyer and specialist in refugee issues, was summoned to appear at the end of the month "in order to be heard in freedom on the charge of publicly defending an act of terrorism, committed through an 'online' public communication service".
The alleged offences were committed between 5 November and 1 December, according to the document.
Rima Hassan clearly condemned, from day one, the actions committed by Hamas on 7 October, calling them terrorist attacks and stating that "it was morally unacceptable to rejoice in the death of civilians, both on the Palestinian and Israeli sides", the party said in its statement.
"Contrary to the statements attributed to her, Rima Hassan NEVER stated that the actions of 7 October were legitimate", added the radical left-wing movement.
