Dani Alves Statue in Juazeiro Will Be Removed. Here's Why
Decision communicated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Bahia this Thursday.

After having been vandalized, the statue in homage to Dani Alves located in Juazeiro will be removed by indication of the Public Ministry of Bahia, with a legal justification around.... public assets.
"The municipal administration forwarded to the MP a copy of Administrative Process No. 295/2019, of Bidding No. 137/2019 and the payment processes referring to the acquisition of the statue of Daniel Alves, which attest that it is a public asset acquired with public funds, and that it is not allowed to pay homage to a living person with public assets", it can be read.
It is recalled that the city council of Juazeiro, about 500 kilometers away, had already been approached by activists with petitions asking for the elimination of the homage icon, especially after the scandals surrounding the experienced defender when he was accused of raping a 23-year-old woman in a nightclub in Suton, in December 2022.
It should be noted that Dani Alves was recently imprisoned, but is now on provisional release, while awaiting a new decision from the Barcelona Court on the appeal filed.
