Reaching each driver individually is the goal of the Spanish General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) on the roads of our neighboring country.
According to the Spanish newspaper El Motor, this measure aims to make personalized awareness more effective in conveying the message.
Having already been tested in Spain, will a similar method reach Portugal?
"Carmen, fasten your seatbelt please" or "David, fasten your seatbelt please", are some of the messages already seen by some drivers.
"We hope it will have more effect than a generic message, which says that not wearing a seatbelt costs four points on your license. We know we can't do it, but we try to reach each person individually", a DGT spokesperson explained to El Motor.
