Dietitian warns of the dangers of training on an empty stomach

Are you already on your way to the gym or prepared for your daily run and you haven't had anything in your stomach for hours? It's best to pay attention to this detail, as it may be harming your body.
The website Eat This, Not That spoke with Chrissy Arsenault, a dietitian from the Trainer Academy, who revealed some of the things that can happen if you adopt this habit.

"When you train on an empty stomach, your bloodstream is usually low on glucose, so your muscles are forced to use other macronutrients as an energy source. You may have lower performance levels due to lower blood glucose levels," she explains.
"If you're training to gain strength or muscle, a workout on an empty stomach will not be a good idea because you may experience early fatigue, decreased endurance, and an increased risk of muscle protein breakdown," she continues.
She recommends eating a light meal or snack at least an hour before starting to exercise.
