In the next round, the 33rd, the 'lions' will travel to the Estoril Praia grounds on Saturday, with the title already secured, but will only be presented with the trophy the following weekend, on May 18 and 19, at home, when they will receive the current 17th and penultimate classified in the championship.

This is usually the usual protocol, since the champion trophy is awarded to the winning team in the first home game after the title is confirmed.

Sporting was crowned Portuguese football champion for the 20th time on Sunday, benefiting from Benfica's defeat in the visit to Famalicão, by 2-0, on the 32nd round of the I League.

The 'lions', who had beaten Portimonense at home on Saturday (3-0), now have an eight-point advantage over their Lisbon rivals, when only six are in dispute.
