However, there are those who still don't know how to pronounce his name. This is the case of Martin Keown, a former English international who represented clubs such as Arsenal, Everton and Aston Villa, who had to ask Gary Lineker and Micah Richards for help so as not to 'put his foot in it', last weekend, when he was analysing the reunion with Wolves, on the British television station BBC Sport. "I was trying to help Martin Keown, because you know what he's like. We had a laugh. Martin is brilliant, I love him, but he gets a little bit nervous about pronouncing names", Gary Lineker began by revealing, on the podcast 'Rest is Football'. "He tends to ask several times how to say someone's name. Including Nuno's. Before doing the analysis, he turned to Micah and said 'It's Nu-no, isn't it? Nu-no?'. And Micah started laughing. Of course it is", he added. An account that provoked the laughter of fellow panellist, Alan Shearer, Newcastle's historic goalscorer, who fired: "What the f*** else could it be other than Nu-no?".
