Confusion between players and supporters interrupts FC Porto-Benfica

The final of the Hugo dos Santos Cup, between FC Porto and Benfica, was momentarily interrupted at the end of the afternoon this Sunday, due to the confusion that occurred near the stands of the Multiusos de Gondomar Pavilion, in the third period.

The incarnate team was winning, 37-38, when some elements of their bench were challenged by fans of their eternal rival, who were sitting right behind, leading to tempers flaring and even requiring the intervention of security forces.

The coach of the dragons, Fernando Sá, and the captain, Miguel Queiroz, also came forward to prevent greater harm, while the opposing team moved to the center of the court to protect themselves.

Minutes later, the security contingent was reinforced at the scene of the confusion, so the refereeing trio, formed by Luís Lopes, Paulo Marques and Vicente Jardim, gave orders for the basketball classic to be resumed.
