18-year-old arrested after robbery in Lisbon. He had a kitchen knife

An 18-year-old was, on Wednesday, arrested by the Public Security Police (PSP) for carrying out a robbery using a bladed weapon in the parish of Parque das Nações, in Lisbon.
According to a statement from the police force, sent to newsrooms this Monday, the agents went to the Parque das Nações area, due to an alert that reported a robbery in progress. As soon as he saw the agents, the suspect fled and "tried to cross the fence delimiting the railways".
The boy ended up being intercepted and the agents verified that he had in his possession "a kitchen knife, a balaclava, several documents containing the identification of the victim and three mobile phones". All objects were seized.
One of the mobile phones that the suspect had had already been reported as stolen in an occurrence on 20 October 2023. During the robbery, the detainee "tried in several ways for the victim to make several MBway transfers through a QR code and later through the bank application". The PSP also stated that "all these attempts were unsuccessful".
The young man was presented to the judicial authorities, and was later released and subject to a term of identity and residence.
