An alligator was found in the landing gear of a military aircraft at MacDill Air Force Base in Florida. The unusual discovery was made last Monday, April 22, and images show the animal, about three meters long, stuck between the tires of the KC-135 aerial refueling aircraft.

The potentially dangerous discovery was treated with a sense of humor by base personnel, who referred to the reptile as "our newest toothy airman," according to the Miami Herald.

Alerted immediately, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) went to the scene to capture the animal, as shown in a video that has already been viewed more than 432,000 times on Facebook, and which you can see in the gallery above.

Visibly uncooperative, the alligator was removed thanks to the know-how of the experts, who covered the animal's head with a towel and then moved it with a rope. Once the procedure was completed, the alligator was transported and released into the Hillsborough River.
