"This week I lost two people I loved": this is how Raquel Strada starts a sharing with the admirers of her Instagram page, in which she reflects on the death of "Grandmother Deodata" and the creator Manuel Alves, paying homage to both.
"Although completely different, it would be impossible to be more equal in the way of embracing life", she stresses.
"Both were irreverent for their time, and without fear of breaking rules and fighting for what they believed in", she argues.
"One fought to be a free woman and give her daughters a life with love, even if for that she had to be a mother, a woman and divorced before the 25th of April, at a time when being a woman was a lot of things, but one thing that was never for her was… easy", she notes, referring to her grandmother.
"Another, who with his genius and brilliance made us dream and believe in the beauty of things, in the way he dressed us and how he made us laugh and dance whenever we were with him", she adds in relation to the designer.
"Today they are together somewhere, and if they get to know each other, believe me, they are more alike than it seems at first sight. I like you very much, Grandmother Deodata and Manuel. I know that you both liked a good wine, so if you are together, make a toast for us. May we all live life as you lived it. Without fear", she says, finally.
