Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian forces "are improving their positions on the front line" and stressed that "in general, the dynamics are now absolutely clear to everyone".

In his statements, the Kremlin representative referred to the decision of the United States House of Representatives to support the allocation of new funds, in the amount of 57.2 billion euros, to help Ukraine, adopted on Saturday.

"The money and the weapons that will be supplied will not change this dynamic," Peskov said, adding that these funds "will cause new victims among Ukrainians".

"Ukraine will suffer greater losses," Peskov said, stressing that much of the money "will, in one way or another, end up in the hands of the Americans themselves".

"The United States will become richer and will obtain additional dividends, thus providing aid to Ukraine," he said, according to the Russian news agency TASS.

In this regard, he criticized the US plan to appropriate Russian assets frozen in the country, worth around 6 billion euros, and warned that these measures will be subject to "legal proceedings".

"We are very skeptical about this, because it is nothing more than the destruction of all the bases of the economic system (...) This cannot, in any way, be seen as a legal action. It is illegal and, therefore, will be subject to retaliatory measures and legal proceedings," he warned.

However, he admitted that a legal action of this type "would be very complex", but "will cause serious damage to the economy and the interests of the US".

"If these measures go ahead, it is clear that many investors will think twice before investing in American economic products," he said.

Russian authorities today announced progress in the Donetsk region, in eastern Ukraine, where they claimed to have "liberated" the city of Novomikhailovka, according to a statement from the Russian Defense Ministry on its Telegram account.

Novomykhailivka is about 30 kilometers from Donetsk and not far from Vugledar, a city at the junction of the southern and eastern fronts that Russia has been trying to conquer for two years.

Some of the assault force units were defeated by Ukrainian brigades in areas of Belogorovka, but Russian forces managed to deal with several assault groups in Bogdanovka and Pobreda, also in Donetsk.

"Ukrainian forces lost around 410 soldiers, nine vehicles and artillery, as well as a weapons depot and a station from which they conducted electronic warfare," the Russian government added.

Russian forces regularly claim to have captured villages and are taking the initiative, while the Ukrainian army is facing a shortage of ammunition and new recruits.

The war in Ukraine has already caused tens of thousands of deaths on both sides, and the two belligerents remain steadfast in their territorial positions and are not open to negotiating concessions.

Recent months have been marked by large-scale Russian airstrikes against Ukrainian cities and infrastructure, while Kyiv's forces have targeted targets in Russian territory near the border and in the Crimean peninsula, illegally annexed in 2014.

Now in its third year of war, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been facing a lack of weapons and ammunition, despite repeated promises of aid from Western allies.
