Liverpool made sure to send an emissary to the Dragão last Sunday to take notes on the performance of Alan Varela during the 28th round of the I League, which pitted FC Porto against Vitória SC.

It ended up not being a very happy night for the 22-year-old player, since, despite being the starting bet by Sérgio Conceição, he was taken off in the 56th minute to make way for Iván Jaime, in a match in which the Dragons would end up being defeated 1-2.

The news was reported this Wednesday by the newspaper O Jogo, which adds that Manchester City has also shown interest in the midfielder, who arrived at the club less than a year ago from Boca Juniors for eight million euros.

Alan Varela, it should be recalled, has also been linked to interest from Borussia Dortmund. However, he has a valid contract with the blue and white team until June 2028, and is 'protected' by a termination clause worth 70 million euros.
